My first visit to the Caribbean was in 1997 as an athlete. I traveled to Trinidad & Tobago for two weeks with two other members of a Brooklyn based bicycle team to race the "Easter International Grand Prix," a 3-day event held at Arima Velodrome. It was also the first time I ate "doubles.”
